Here is a wonderful article on how GPS and GIS have radically reshaped our vision of space and time.  The quote from Buckminster Fuller is especially telling: “our beds are empty two-thirds of the time…”

It’s clear from a demographic research point-of-view how important these systems are to understanding the space around us.  But it is amazing how these technologies are also transforming urban planning, landscape architecture and our entire vision for our urban (and suburban) cities.

I wonder if our local leaders have looked at this…
