The effects of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill are continuing to grow. Forget about the miles wide plumes of oil floating under the surface, choking all sea life in its wake. Forget about the oil hitting the loop current and being shipped through the Florida Keys and into the Gulf Stream in the Atlantic.

The crisis at hand now is that oil is entering Louisiana’s coastal marshes – the brackish home to most of the gulf coast’s fisheries.
